Based on the history of flash memory, we see the 1GB units and 2GB units being discontinued in the near future. These lower capacity flash drives have come down so much in price that the memory manufacturers always discontinue them for the higher capacities. This has been the trend over the past ten years….interesting that I was looking at our custom flash memory price list from 8 years ago and the 32MB unit was the highest capacity that we had available and the cost was in the $8.00 range. So in the near future, the 4GB units will be the lowest capacity available in a custom flash drive. Down the road, it would not surprise me if the 2.0 flash drives were completely discontinued for USB 3.0 flash drives. I’ll update this as I see more trends in the industry!!

Last week I was attending a show and a gentleman walked up and seemed interested in our logo imprinted flash drives.
